The Lewiston Community Lions are on the move. Since its
inception in June 2009 it has increased its membership from twenty-two to
thirty-six charter members.
In addition, the Lewiston Lions received a family membership
award by Lions Club International. The international volunteer organization is
becoming the leading force in worldwide family volunteerism by encouraging
clubs to invite family members into their clubs. The Lewiston Lions embraced
this new direction by chartering ten or more family members.These efforts are helping to position the
Lions Club International as a dynamic, forward –thinking organization focused
on answering the needs of young families as well as serving communities
worldwide.
The Lewiston Lions being recognized internationally by an
organization whose member’s number one and quarter million members worldwide
and the only service organization allowed into China is an added bonus. Members
are proud of Lewiston not only being recognized locally but having Lewiston put
in the spotlight on an international level.
